does any one know a good way to get striped torx screws out i have one one my leek g10 its striped bad, i never had an issue with kershaws torx before

yeah i have a drill press and lots of bits if i cant find one small enuff ill pick one up , i was just wondering of there was another way to do it with out drilling i was thinking of usesing another crapy dtox bit i have and glueing it to in the head and trying to get it out that way

Sometimes a hex bit will fit into and grip a stripped torx, and sometimes vice-versa. I've done this at least once to loosen a stripped out torx.

You can take a piece of tape (masking or clear plastic tape) and force it into the stripped out screw head with your driver. Sometimes that provides just enough extra hold to loosen the screw.

I don't know if it will work with a small torx but on bicycle disc brakes we just tap the head a couple times with a hammer. This folds enough material back to allow us to remove them. For a small recessed torx you would have to use a punch. Just a light tap or two then try it. Hit it too hard and you can't get the tool in. Other then that drilling it out is the only thing I can think of.

I use paint remover to get rid of striped screws.

For stripped screws, I use screw extractor tool. Works ok on Torx for me. YMMV.

Your screw should be a #6, if so, take a #7 and with a hammer, drive the #7 into the head and remove. I've done this many times, always works. You can even reuse the screw if the threads are good. Protect the opposite side of your handle from possible damage. Hope this helps.

They make an 'easy out' which is basically just a reverse thread screw. You drill out the head a little but not enough to pop the head off from the shaft. Insert the bit and as you unscrew the torx screw the easy out bit is screwing itself into the head tighter and has worked really well for me every time I have done it.

I haven't had much luck with trying to make a slot in the head as usually the ones that strip are really small. You can get the easy out tool at Sears and probably most other hardware stores. I think a #2 is the right size but it might be a #1. You can get a set for under 5 bucks and it works great for all types of stripped screw heads.

Post a link or a picture of the knife. I don't need to see the actual knife you have, but I would like to at least see an online pic of the knife, or a similar one, so I can see the exact type of screw. Is it a button head torx? Socket head? Flat head?
Google your knife, and post a link to show me.
If you send me the knife I can fix it for you.
I do all sorts of knife mods and "pimping" jobs. (modifications) We love to mod our knives! Scales, bolsters, etc. I'm basically an ex-knifemaker, and I have done this type of work for years, and I'd be glad to help you out.
Thanks.

Get a stripped/broken screw remover from an industrial supply place, such as www.mcmaster.com and use that. You won't find one small enough in regular stores like Ace Hardware or Home Depot.
