Stripers and a new boat!

Well, my dad and I went halves on a new(used) boat a couple of weeks ago. We finally had a chance to take her out on her maiden(for us) voyage last weekend. We took her out to the San Luis Forebay, to try our luck on the stripers. Well, I had some luck but can't say the same for my dad.

For knife content, I just got a Mora #510 to keep in the boat with a lighter for emergencies. I'm working on getting a full kit together, but at least we have something for cutting line and cleaning fish...

Trying to keep the sun at bay while I bring one in.

Success! Now the boat is officially broken in...

My wife, enjoying the sun, when she's not taking pictures.

Yeah, I've heard. My dad has fished there quite a bit. I've only been there a few times, and this was my first keeper I've caught there.

I know, that wouldn't have bode well for the boat if we'd got skunked!

We also found out that it didn't have neutral or reverse on that trip, so it was nice to get that fixed before our labor day Wishon trip. We still need to figure out why it doesn't seem to have the power it should. Hopefully it's the motor and not just the fact that our fat a$$es are in the boat...

Congrats on the New (Used) boat  Hope it serves you well ! Looks like a good day fishing with the family !

Congrats on the boat Nick...now you gotta teach me to fish sometime.... :D

And you gotta love the pizza my heart shirt....:D

Man, use a word that is even closely spelled like stripper and you guys get all excited!
Next time something seems to good to be true, take a deep breath and re-read it, it probably is...

Congrats on the boat Nick...now you gotta teach me to fish sometime.... :D

What?! You don't know how to fish?! We're going to have to change that ASAP.

Great stuff man. Boats these days can be bought for a song given the economy. Enjoy it - looks like you are doing so already! Congrats.

Haha...well I used to do a little reef fishing when I was younger, but it's been ages so I've pretty much forgotten everything. I don't think I've thrown or swam a line out in more than 5 years. I did spearfish, but that's a different ball game :) Been wanting to pick up fishing for a long time now, just haven't had the time to do it up here or found people to teach me.
