stripped and started a patina on my bk17

I stripped my bk 17 and soaked it in apple cider vinegar paper towel for an hour. the micarta is from 710 and the sheath is kelley customs.

after: there was a few discolourations from factory under the coating.

I still plan on going darker with the patina.
 
Nice start on that patina. That 17 is a SWEET looking blade. The way I got my 14 as dark as I did, was I soaked the blade in vinegar for 2 hours. Stinky but works great.
 
Well done! I have consider a mustard patina on my mine but would consider the cider vinegar as well. Thanks for the information.

they do feel great in hand. I find the grivory scales that come with the knives too narrow and these fill my hands nicely.
