I removed the coating a long time ago, and posted pics of the process, but not of the finished product! I did a vinegar patina on it afterward, immersing it in apple cider vinegar for about 30 minutes on each side, to make sure it got covered. I am so happy with the way it turned out.

She's all convexed up, too, which made a huge difference in the chopping and cutting ability! I'm never going back.

That looks sweet, especially those handles and convex edge. I dont have a BK2 yet but its on my list of must haves....arent they all?

Very nice patina, it looks nice and rustic with those handles. Has the Bk2 become your go to day hike knife or do have any other knives in rotation?

Nice look. I just stripped mine as well but I havn't decided if I'm going to force a patina or let it make it's own. Love the handles...

Now that looks sweet!
Exactly how I want mine to look after strip. Except the convexing, not sold on that yet!

Was the blade totally submerged in vinegar?

It has become my main go to for day hikes. I have a few others, but nothing is more comfortable or reliable than my BK2 (I have an F1 and a Fehrman Last Chance, which I'm trying to get more used to...)! I've also figured out how to set it up on my belt in a cross-draw manner, and it rides really comfortably there. You can see the paracord and toggle on the sheath. That's how it mounts to the belt on the front of my left hip.

I'm a big fan of the patina, and I have had no problems with rust since I did it. Yes, it was totally submerged. I just filled a long, shallow rubbermaid/tupperware thing with the apple cider vinegar, and laid the knife in on one side (it was too tall to stand on the spine, because the edge and the finger guard area were out of the vinegar), and after a set amount of time, I flipped it over and let it set for the same amount of time. I think I ended up doing two rounds until it got where I wanted it.

You're already making me want to strip my newly ordered BK2 and it's not even here yet!

Thats gorgeous! probably my next project, hopefully in the next week or so. Great pics too!

That's what this forum will do to us! It's the beauty of sharing our experiments!

Yeah, but unfortunately we aren't sharing the bank account! I'm the only one making my money then my gf, daughter and you guys are spending it.;)

Murphnuge, as a play on the Carpenter's song says, "It's Only Just Begun" . . . . :)
That's the bad thing on this forum for any age group, you have Style "A", someone else makes a Style "B", & now you want your own Style "B-1" . . . . .
Willworship great job on the Becker, improved the looks a ton.
Nice looking piece.
Be safe.
p.s.: +1 on getting the M/H mixed completely . . . .
