I finally got around to stripping my old BK-2 and new BK-16, now time to get them dirty! :D

Gelled "Circa 1850" paint stripper, followed by #280 wet/dry sandpaper, followed by buffing wheel with green compound. Dremel sanding drum on the spine.

They are still a bit rough around the edges, but they are to be users so I'm not too concerned about getting them perfect...

When you strip Beckers, do you do the spines as well? I understand leaving coating under the scales but what about the top of the tang where it is visible between the handle slabs?

Your thread on stripper the other day got me wondering why I hadn't stripped mine yet as I had planned months ago!!

That MK2 is looking better everyday. Micarta slabs and I've got a Spec Ops Combat Master sheath coming for it :D

I always do the spine all the way around, usually with a drum sander on a dremel, followed by a sanding, it looks better but requires a bit more maintenance to keep from rusting...

I like to keep a nice crisp square edge on the spine opposite the blade, better for throwing sparks with the fire-steel...
