Stripped BK9, Micarta Scales, Display Case

Long story short, I found a spare pane of glass down in the barn the other day and it gave me an idea. It was beautiful out, and I had a little weathered wood left over from a previous project so I decided to throw together a display case to house my BK9 when it wasn't riding on my pack/belt. Unfortunately I didn't think to snap any pics while building the box itself, just this one before I put the hinges on the lid. The 9 has new micarta in this pic, but it hadn't been stripped yet.

Here it is stripped. I lightly etched the flats, then put a light patina over the whole blade using worcestershire. Didn't turn out quite like I had planned, but I'm still happy with it.

Here's a couple of it in the display case. Looks kind of lonely now that I think of it.. I'll have to order him some friends when the budget allows.

Great job all around JHuss! Good looking case, but I hope that 9 doesn't reside there often.

Great job ! Looks good. Are you gonna fill that with the 3 LE first run BK15, BK16, BK17 ? If not, you could always fill it with some of Bear Grylls stuff, then put it on epray, as a special one-off collection w/case. Probly make enough to buy a bunch of Beckers ! LOL :D

Thanks for the replies guys.

Sounds like a great plan. Unfortunately I wasn't thinking that far ahead and rigged it to self destruct if anything associated with Bear Grylls comes within a 10ft radius :(
The first part sounds much better :)

Doesn't look like it's going to. Wasn't in there an hour before I had him out helping me make some coffee with the new Emberlit that came in the mail today :)

I'll have to make a post on that after a while.

Did you get the ti or ss? I love your 9...thinking about doing that to one of mine but I can't make up my mind.

I was thinking on doing something like that for my BK2, my first real knife and my first becker.

thats sweet JHuss! nice work, thanks for the pics....pretty pretty pretty!

...maybe I need to make a display case for my lil steel buddies too. ;)

That's a great idea. I like the rustic feel a lot, as someone previously mentioned. Kinda makes me want to show off my Beckers in a similar fashion!

That's awesome...yeah I was wondering what would be more worth it. I want to know how it really does compared to the ti...as the price tag for the titanium is a little on the iffy side.
