Took the Tufram off the Cricket today (I'm a user, not a collector) and it's perfect. Plus, by taking it apart, cleaning, polishing, etc. the lock is tighter. The liner is perfectly aligned with the left side of the tang. No Play Hooray. ScotchBrite Finish. Shiny Clip. Slightly Rounded Edges. I dig it!

Looks pretty nice to me...

Thanks for the compliments.

It's been riding in my pocket for a few days now and the patina on the scales is great. This has become my permanent pocket knife.

The job was pretty simple and quicker than I thought: per scale - about 1 hr with 220 grit sandpaper, 30 mins with 400 grit to take the 'edge' off and 15 mins with ScotchBrite pad (green). I have to say that Tufram is one hell of a lot tougher than I expected. What is it made of? Some type of ceramic compound?

RLR,

I was under the impression that the aluminum cricket was black annodized and not tuffram.

Recoil - I think this one was Tufram.

a) it wasn't anodizing or paint;
b) said Tufram on the original box;
c) this one was grey, slate grey;
d) it was almost impossible to scratch with keys, etc...

I'm sure someone can confirm any variants there may have been...
