Here's my FFBM...its currently a work in progress. I have stripped the finish, and started polishing the blade..I started with 220 grit, then 400 wet, 600 wet, and finally 1500 wet....I like the finish, but I can still see machine marks that were under the original finish...I think I will simply start again, and fo for a mirror finish. The sheath is a STEELNUT 2 piece and a leather loop that I added...I have a dangler from Chuddybear on order...with pouch..can't wait. I have the edge to paper slicing sharp...love this thing! Gene

Nice strip job, there, Gene! Hope you love your Mistress and beat her up regularly!
:D

Nice blade!

You'll probably have to remove the scales to get rid of all the machine marks, especially on the ricasso area. But there's no real need to unless you're just OCD, especially on a user. She looks reall good as is

Looking good. I had to go to a 60 grit to get similar grind marks out - assuming you're doing this by hand.

I am using an Orbital...I know that this sounds bad...but after a while on 1500 grit....the blade is like a mirror....I will warn you...it leaves some scratch marks, that require heavy hand work...I just find that to remove the most stock in the least amount of time, is my thing. Gene

I am sure you know this but just be careful with the heat generated. You might want to check to see if this voids the warranty if that is an issue for you. That's why I did mine by hand and only used a smooth scotch-brite drill attachment for the end. Good luck and keep us updated with pics. Projects like these are awesome. ;)
