2 of the 3 screws that hold the standoffs together with the frame are stripped on the heads of my 3" xm-18. I pretty sure I can get them out one more time with an oversize hex wrench but I will need new ones, and I don't want to take them out until I have new ones to put in. The screws I have are nice and polished and show no machine marks. I believe this was a show knife so that is why there may have been extra effort put into the finish. How do I go about getting new ones? Do I have to send the knife to the ranch or do I have to get new standoffs (figuring new screws come with the standoffs), or can I just order new screws. If I have to order them would there be any way to get nice polished one like I have, or maybe even have them anodized for an extra fee? I would send an email, but I have not got a response from my last one (4 days ago).

I am uncertain where you sent the email, but I have none unanswered. If you PM'd me, likely I haven't gotten to it, I only check here periodically, I check email constantly. Regardless, your answers are below.

I copied and pasted the info below from the general info thread for you, it contains links to the handle screws you are after. Show knife or not, there is no special treatment applied to a 3" handle screw so what Monkey Edge has, is what you have. They are steel and cannot be anodized.

MonkeyEdge has the exclusive for now on our small parts sales, the following links will lead you to them

Thank you, just put an order in with Monkey edge... and will definitely try not to strip these soft screws again:grumpy:

If you are using a proper size bit and not over torquing them, you will have no problems. From my experience, crappy spec tools and gorilla tactics on small screws won't yield good results.
