She slices much better now! Zero drag! Now I want the 5... And the 7 and the 4 and hell all of them including future makes!!

Well, I apparently didn't use whatever it is you used. I just let my 16 sit in an acetone bath for 3+ hrs and nothing. Nada. Zilch. It looks EXACTLY like it did before I started. Tough stuff this new 80 grit coating. :P

Yeah I'll probably have to go that route. I'm okay with most blade coatings but the coating on this 16 is crazy coarse. I've got another similar knife with a DLC coating and it just slides right through, but this 16 grabs and sticks on everything.

man thats weird my 11 had the new coating and i let it sit in acetone for 30 minutes or less and all the coating came right off. only had acetone on the blade but the handle coating came off too...

I think it helps alot if u scuff up the coating with sandpaper or already have scratches in it to let the stripper in.

I found acetone works better than paint stripper. Acetone + some steel wool to wipe the black goo off.

I did scuff it up good. I think the metal has deep pits in it which help the coating stick better.

Klean Strip spray from wally world, 15 minutes and the coating literally fell off!

I used Klean Strip on my 2 and it was very easy. I also tried it with my Gerber Prodigy. Nothing. Left it on for 4 hours. Nothing. Left it soaking in a pan of Klean Strip overnight (15+ hours) NOTHING! It didnt even fade it. I think I am going to stick with stripping Beckers only.

I used Rustoleum Aircraft Remover and it took it off but took an hour and still required a metal engine gasket scraper to get it off. I think some of these sprays have different concentrations of methylene chloride.

It would be nice if the factory offered that option, I would order all mine naked. BTW that model is on my short list. So many BK's so little time. :)
