My FPR is a safe queen no more. Judging by how the community generally views the monstrosity of the etch job I just don't see it being very collectable in the future, and if it is I don't see it gaining more than 100 bucks or so in value. I'd rather have years of using this thing than maybe an extra 100 bucks in 15 years or something.

Also, the next time I will have money for a tweener is the one I'm giving away haha and I'm tired of not having one of my own to use!

Anyways, enough rambling, here's a few pics. I stripped it with Klean Strip (worked AMAZING, the 16 threw off the coating like a wool coat in the summer) and then I wanted to hide some of that ugly etching so I patina'd it with mustard and Franks Red Hot. I love the thing so far, up next is dying the sheath.

Thanks for looking.

Cha-Ching! That's more like it! We don't need no Beckers turning into busse safe queens! lol

Alright, you've talked me into it. I resisted in the first wave of FPR mods, but really, I'd rather use it than look at it. Besides, I've got some nice kydex that Thrill made for it, so that's another reason to make it a user.

Looks good man !!! Worth is in the eyes of the beholder, I think its worth more in the use and experiences had then sitting in a box for 5 years and making a couple of bucks. Looking forward to seeing it in use.

Looks like you did a good job, in the second picture it almost looked like you had grey scales and I was like "what the" then I realized that it was the light that made them look grey.
