Okay, technically RC-6. Whatever. :)

Decided to strip my RC-6 and patina it for kicks. I've never done this before, and I just did some funny stuff with the mustard that I used to patina it to make interesting lines. It's not like the greatest looking but it's kinda neat, and pics don't really do it justice on how it actually looks.

Took slabs entirely off, let soak in paint stripper, stripped all the way down then patina'd, then put slabs back on. I'm digging it, and thus far 24+ hours later no rust has formed telling me I did a good solid job.

Check her out.

@Weeblewobble: Covered the entire blade in a light sheen of mustard, then just "drew" the pattern in the mustard itself. Sat with the mustard on it probably 30-40 minutes.

@softrockrenegade: It sure doesn't look red in person, but it does have a deep brown to it in several areas. However there's absolutely no surface texture to my fingertips, it's smooth as a baby's...forehead. I'm not sure if that makes it bad rust or not? If so, what would be the cause? Thanks!

@adaman04: Thank you! I like the design even though it's very simple.

So maybe I did this patina right, maybe I didn't. I don't know! But either way it's kinda cool and most importantly I had a great time messing with it.

Thanks Butch I'm glad you like it. It's been mostly red rust free...there is one tiny spot near the "ROWEN" that has some red rust that I'll just wipe the rust off real good and reapply some mustard to it to patina it a bit more.

I'm really glad you guys are liking this.
