stripped pocket clip screw, aluminum scales

Yesterday at work I was climbing through a hatch going into the hull and the pocket clip of myBM Grip got hung up on a lip. Now the only thing that happened was it slipped up off my pocket and then fell back into my pocket, unclipped this time though. Ever since I got the knife a week ago the clip has never been tight to the scales but I didn't think it was a big deal. So today I was watching tv and I decided I bend the clip a bit so it presses firmer to the aluminum scales. When I was reinstalling the clip I twisted off the last screw head. I was being careful not to use to much force, too. Dammit!

Any ideas on how to fix this?

drill and screw extractor being very very careful...or send to benchmade if this is above your skill set abilities.

Scales are made by AWT, I think I may have to email them and ask if they fix my screw up as I do not have a tap or extractor.

Can you get to the other side of the screw if you disassemble the knife? If so, grab it with some pliers and screw it on through.

Or. If you remove the pocket clip. Is there enough of a nub left on the outside to grab with pliers? If so, be careful you may only get one chance and be sure not to scratch the scale, masking tape would work will.

Not with what I have available to me. There just isn't enough screw left to get a decent grip.

Another ploy is to drill the screw from the backside (inside) of the scale. If the drill binds up in the screw, it will push the screw out.

Send it in to BM.

They'll fix it correctly, with a matching Black pan head Torx screw...
