Today I got my brand new Tremor in the mail and everything was good with the knife until I checked the screws and it turns out they came stripped already.....I heard they don't send screws for their China made knives, what should I do?

See the warranty answers found here stickied at the top of the forum. Kershaw customer service is stellar. Contact the company and I'm sure they will take good care of you.

Agreed.

Sometimes that chinese hardware tends to be a little....soft.

They'll likely replace the whole knife, but give them a call and make sure they don't have screws to send out. There's a chance they may.

I know that this has been touched on before, but I think that it needs to be said again; Chinese torx fasteners have notoriously sloppy heads, and combine that with a cheap torx bit (most of the time on the small side of tolerance), and you wind up with a stripped fastener head (unless you are very, very careful and/or very lucky). On any Chinese produced knife (not just Kershaw), you need to use a good quality torx bit and lots of care. I wound up having to get replacement clip screws from the "S" company for my "T" knife (I just can't bring myself to say the words on this forum...).

If they don't carry any screws to send out for their china made knives then I guess its not worth sending in a $20 knife and waiting 6 weeks.

Does anyone know if the screws on the Clash are the same? I don't own a Tremor but I've got a Clash I'm not using and would be happy to dig it out and mail you the clip screws from it if KAI can't get you taken care of without sending in your knife.

It likely wouldn't be six weeks, probably 2 depending on how you ship it. If that's not to your liking, then contacting the dealer/retailed from who you purchased it would be a better option. Ask for an exchange, as any reputable dealer would oblige that request.

Make sure that it has Torx screws for sure.

I know that the Chill and Nerve that I have bought recently have Hex screws instead of Torx.

I made the mistake of using a Torx T6 driver the change the pocket clip on the Nerve and had trouble with one stripping out.

I did manage to change the pocket clip though.

the screws on my clip weren't strippped, it's the screws in the handle that are stripped.

In that case I'd try and return it to the retailer you purchased it from and then they can send it back to Kershaw or whatever their process is.

It turns out it was easy to fix, I hammered a T7 torx driver into the screws so now it screws in & out with the T7.
