WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first attempt at loosening a Torx pivot screw on my CRKT Hammond Cruiser it strips!!!!!!! Now I can never loosen it :(

How do I fix this? and why did it strip? I used the proper size T8

The screw may have been locktited in you can always see if a Allen will fit in the hole you made. Make sure that you use quality tools.

Many home centers sell a liquid screw 'fixer' just for this problem. Put a drop in the screw head, wait a few minutes, press the driver into the head and remove, wait another few minutes for it to completely harden, the remove as normal. Otherwise, you may have to drill and use a screw extractor (also sold at home centers) to remove it. It's a problem, but not unsolvable.

I did the same thing on my front gun sight. Couldn't find a small enough screw extractor, so I got pissed, took an allen wrench a size bigger than the original size, hammered it into the stripped hole until it was fully seated and simply screwed that sucker out. Then just because I was still mad, I smashed the hell out of the screw with my hammer.
