I recieved a few ideas on stripping. Has anyone used or would recomend a good polishing technique ? Should I use a 1000 grit sandpaper to remove the pits of the blade and then use a metal polish compound to finish the job ?

Thanks

JR

if you are talking about the infi dimples, it will take far more agressive sanding to remove them.

if you want to put a polished finish, start with lower grit, maybe 400, then work your way up to 2000-2500 grit. if you like, you can use a metal polish at this point, but you probably wont need it.

the dimples will be on the unbeveled portion of the blade. to remove them, you have to grind quite a bit of metal off. you might consider a sanding wheel or belt sander, then apply the fine grit paper by hand.

First you need a song with a good beat.

Then some flashing lights.

Next a long brass pole.

Oh wait, wrong strippers.

He's right on. I have done this to a few busse's. It will take quite a bit of sanding to get the dimples out. I recommend something like a sanding disk for a drill.
