Stripping blade coating

I missed an auction for an old backspacer Mini A100, but I managed to grab a NIB SilencerCo Mini A100. I guess I can live with the standoffs instead of the backspacer, but I really want a satin finish blade. I'd like to strip off the black blade coating. Is there any issue doing this to an Emerson dimensionally? as far as blade thickness? What can I use to remove the coating?

Aircraft grade aerosol paint remover will work. Remember, you do that, your warranty is gone. But that may or may not matter to you. I would ask, why not just get the one you have into the hands of someone that actually wants it, and get yourself a satin finished version instead.

I may be wrong here but I think you will be disappointed in your blade if you strip the coating seeking an satin blade. I do not think the blade will have the sexy grinder satin/stone wash under the coating.

Also, if you make a thread in the trading forum I am sure someone would jump at the chance at yours for an sf.

If you must remove the black, 1000 grid wet/dry sandpaper is what I have used. It removes the paint and gives a dull satin finish at the same time. It does give the blade a worn and used look.
