Hi folks,
At the weekend I have tried to strip my burp, under the black coating I found this smooth greenish matt layer. And now, I need some ideas how to remove it.
Thanks in advance.

When I did my ASH 2 I ran it through another round of CitriStrip and then hit it with some 600 grit sandpaper.

Say hello to Decarb :D - You got the easy part done - now the sweat equity begins.
There's a whole lotta shine underneath that- this is an early pic- now it looks like chrome. I will have a reveal in the future, but this is the hardest strip I've done so far. Be careful with the edges not to round them over.

I did a lot of wet sanding because that decarb will load the paper up in one swipe so I used a lot of high quality wet paper. another tool that's indispensable is a buffer. I have 2, 2 wheel buffers with different buffs and buffing compounds (look like a big tube of salami) in different grits. Those are the way, at least for me, to get down in the grooves. It's not going to level out the metal but it will shine it up which is all I was going for. I think it would be almost impossible to get the machine marks out. Good thing is, I've found the Infi to be the easiest to work with of the steels I have done.
Congrats for going after it!

Ditto the wet sanding elbow grease. If it's taking too long, go to a coarser grit.

A dremel and scotch brite wheels can be a huge time saver. I don't know if I'd attempt CBTs without one now that I've used the wheels. Go slow and safety first with power tools!

I'm still eagerly awating that reveal Mr. Dicaprio :"P.

How'd it work out, Erto? Here's a pic of mine... stripped it a while back, and it's seen a bit of work since. It's with a Patriot Leather sheath that was made for my Hellrazor (infi/ magnum G10), but I thought was just a bit big. Turns out I was right... it's a better fit for the BURP!

Like how those scales are seasoning into a good look!

Yeah, a little sweat and dirt never looked so good! ;)

I have to say, this knife has such a great feel--it's not only fast in the hand, ergonomic, but I can turn it, flip it, back hand it, etc, with real ease. Not that I'm taking out ninja's in my backyard or anything--it just speaks to the great design of this knife. I knew it when I first saw it, that the BURP was going to be a special blade. The one that comes closest to this kind of feel out of my collection is my Hellrazor.

Till now I only have used the paint remover and then I cleaned it with a scotch brite sponge.
I will share more pictures when I progress with sanding ;)

Which angle do you prefer to put on your blade?
I've been using the Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition for a while now, and sharpened my burp at a 22.5 degree (per side) angle, and the two sides came out pretty even.
It is really unbelievable how easy it is to get blade hair shaving sharp!
