What would be the best chemical product to remove the coating from a CS Rifleman hawk? Preferably available at a hardware store, ect.

Thanks guys.

Almost any heavy duty paint stripper will do.

I have used Citristrip to remove the coating from a Ka-Bar (tough stuff), it worked great but it did take two applications and I let it set over night. It is a little safer than other strippers, it says it is natural and biodegradeable. Smells a bit like oranges and comes in aerosol cans among others. I work at O'Reilly Auto Parts and we carry it, Wal-Mart does as well. I have heard great things about aircraft stripper (we sell that also) but I have never used it myself, people say it is strong stuff. You could probably use any auto grade paint stripper as it is made to remove paint from metal.
