Stripping patina and recoating?

Hey all,
I recently bought a Scapyard scrapper 5 for my cousin and it was already worked on including a mustard and vinegar patina. After we spent some time in the rain some rust spots have popped up under the finish. My question (his actually), What do you use to strip the patina with and what's a good coating to reapply? I was thinking maybe cerakote but am not that well versed. Any suggestions would be cool.

Hi Yippeekiay. Some Flitz Metal Polish will handle removing the patina. After that, I'd use soap and water, dry it, and apply mineral oil to keep it food safe. If food use will never come up, WD-40 that sucker. Good luck. :thumbup:
