I've come over from the dark side:D:eek:

Actually, I have a pretty good Becker collection and love them as much as my other knives ( sometimes more:))
I want to strip my BK7 which has micarta handles on it and my BK11. I understand from what I've read to clean the blade thouroughly( alcohol , scotch-brite, steel wool) before applying a patina. I want to use vinegar or maybe lemon juice. Should I leave the black paint under the handle or strip/patina that as well? I'm thinking it may look more consistent if I do the whole thing one shot. The BK11 I will do all of it , but not so sure about the 7 if to leave the handle as is or what. Any thoughts/pics guys or what you may have done?:o
Thanks

I just stripped and put a patina on mine, i left the coat under scales for rust prevention i think thats better but you could coat with clear coat if you want to stip it as well....

I'd leave it (black coating under the grips) you won't see it and it'll be peace of mind against rust.

This one is mostly a citrus fruit patina , limes .lemon, Grapefruit. I've been using it to cut everything really.

That's a nice knife. I have 2 BHK bushcrafters with Black Micarta in 0-1. I'll let them get a natural patina . My black has chipped on my 7 ; that's why I want to strip it.

Here is mine stripped with the micarta handles, it has a patina, if you look close you can see the lines.
I used horse Horseradish.
Also if you search threw this forum you will find alot about different patina's and how everyone did theres...
