Stripping sr77 and sr101

Has anyone stripped their rats and dogs? I am interested in giving the rats and dogs a shot but I also am not a fan of coated blades. How about forcing a patina or blueing? Thanks for the help guys.

I cant speak for the Yard blades but Rats strip well and SR101 takes a freaking awesome patina. I am not a fan of bluing because I want all my knives to be food safe. Maybe we can get World Wood to post a pic of his half stripped Choppy that thing looks amazing.

Cooked and sliced some flank steak last night. Not 20 minutes later this was my gift.
Now to find like seven more 311...

Thanks guys. Timmy it seems that neither of us can leave a blade coated long. So if I can find a 1311 and strip it and give it a nice vinegar bath I'll get a nice patina, I was also not aware that blueing left a knife unsafe for food, I have only used vinegar and mustard for patina

Cook a steak and rub it aaaaalllll over the 1311 so the cooked blood gets all up on it. . Rainbow 1311

I've found blood from raw meat works better. More acidic. Haven't stripped my 1311 yet, but the sweet spot is getting close to being completely work-stripped, so I might do it soon.

This is my Ratmandu SR101. It was stripped and buffed to a pretty good satin. Then it took a trip to the back yard and trimmed the Banana trees. It patina'd immediately:

Make a batch of Kick-a-poo-joyjuice with everclear and a bunch of citrus. The citrus will put the patina on the blade and you'll forget how it got there.

Good old common paint stripper.
Fine Scotch brite belt on just the blade.
Liked the darker colour everywhere else so left it as is.

Most CG Swamp Rats have micarta and G10 both of which can survive just about anything.

No worries, all the Bussekin handle materials are resistant to strippers.
