Well, decided to attempt my first Becker mod. At the moment I am waiting on one side of my 17 ready itself for removal (its a slow day at the office). I will post up some pics after all the coating is gone.

Now the next question is whether or not I want to force a patina or blue it...has anyone ever attempted a blue over a patina? :D

Oh, and a pic of the knife in question (older pics but in my excitement I forgot to take any pics before I started haha):

Reassembled. Really digging the machining marks in the blade, it gives it a lot of character.

That looks sweet! As far as patina, I like to plaster both sides of blade with yellow mustard and let it on for at least three or four hours, depending on how dark you want it. Then wash blade with dish soap and warm water. If you want it darker just re-apply mustard. After the mustard, I coat blade with cold blue and let on for about ninety minuets. The blue adds some real nice color affects. Then after you have the patina you like, apply two or three coats of paste wax ( I use Minwax) that really give it a nice satin sheen. Good luck, let me know how it works.

That sounds like it would be an awesome looking finish! Got pics?

I think I'm gonna give that a try. I don't have any gun blue but I will pick some this weekend.
