I am looking for information, links, or a source for the Isak Stromeng Leuku used by the Norwegian Jagercommando (sp?). Thank you.

Isak Strømeng is a Norwegian knife manufacturer associated with producing a type of knife traditionally used by the Same people (ethnic minority in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia). The buisness is located in Karasjok in the very north of Norway.

I know for for a fact that a model was made for the Norwegian military (exactly what units I`m not sure of as I don`t know too much about this)The following url (a Norwegian outdoors website)has a picture of this knife as well as two other Strømeng produced knives:
http://www.1000turtips.no/TurTesten/Samekniver/samekniver.htm

The model in question is the one with a guard and the different sheat. If you click on "linker" (links) on that page, you will find the phonenumber of "Knivsmed Strømeng AS" listed under "Produsenter av Friluftsutstyr", subheadings "kniver" and "liggeunderlag" (btw. it`s 78 46 71 05, and of course you`ll need whatever prefix is used in the U.S. to call Norway).

This was just what i found during a quick search of the net..... Kind of hard to find Strømeng without the "Ø"-Key.

Ps. "Jager" is spelled "Jeger" in Norwegian......

Thanks for the info. It is hard to search for something when your keyboard doesn't have the correct letters. After your post I was able to use the cut/paste function and did a search with the correctly spelled name. I found that Brusletto carries his knives and I sent for information. Thanks again for your help.
