Hi, I just wanted to know how's the edge holding capabilities on this knife? I want the larger 9" model to use as a short machete. I've seen reviews on them but nothing ever mentioned about how well the steel holds up. Thanks

I have the 9" model, and used it for a couple of years. I`ve yet to experience something negative other than rust (it`s a carbon blade) with the steel. Go for it I`d say, they are great utility choppers.

Edge retention is better than most commercial machete's, although if the ground you're clearing has stones and cr4p in it, you'll probably regret the extra Rockwell numbers
