Anyone know of any models or makers that have very strong springs? Specifically after the half stop to open.
I have a gec #735221 and #38 both have good solid strong springs to open. But am looking for something that opens with more snap like the old knives.
I have a queen 83 stockman that has incredible snap, same with old case 0249 and Robeson 622056. They may be nail breakers but I like them that way, growing up that's all I experienced so got used to a good snap when opened.

My two GEC 71s from 2021 both have very strong springs. They are notably stronger than any of my other GECs or other knives.

Among GECs the early #73s and #54s had very stiff springs, and I had a Queen Wildcat Driller in rams' horn that was a 9+ (10 = needing a pliers to open).

You might want to check out a Tinus Stone folder. Not too hard to open but very snappy. Snaps hard from the half stop open and close.

Of my knives, this is the snappiest. Very strong spring, but it is a slightly bad combo with the limited space you have to access the nail nick.

It snaps open and closed with authority though, and it’s a hell of a looker!

That pocket slip is nice, looks like a good design. Does the fob go outside the pocket?
Thanks! Yeah I made it to go into the side pocket of my carpenter jeans and the fob sits up just enough to grab it easily. Since there was no bail on this large swayback it way a neat way to get a fob on it.

It also works well for the watch pocket or front pocket but I usually don't use a slip for those pockets.

I have a few GEC's with Strong Springs , but this one is the has to be taken to the wooden vise to be opened . In 6 years it has never been used . It does have some great Ironwood covers though .
