Strong tip

I was reading a Blog a while back. And it's been repeated on other blogs. So tell me if you think this statement is true.

A spear Point has the strongest tip available.

I always thought a tanto would have the strongest tip . What is your opinion on what blade shape has the strongest tip in penetration use. Thank you in advance for your expertise

Depends on more than just the blade shape, but generally tanto's tend to leave a little more meat behind the tip.

20% for outstanding service is about as strong a tip as I would go.

Too many other variables. "Spear Point" is a general shape. The thickness of the grind counts much more than the general shape.

I guess it depends on where I'm eating. 20% would be good tip for a lobster dinner. If the waitress treats you right. If not then she or he or it gets less.
