big mike love that coco, thanks for showing. singularity35 yes it's a framelock. the pics of this monster did'nt look this huge, too big to carry , safe queen now.i beleive this is only knife that you can throw at a brick wall & it will function perfectly. i would try this except it would hurt resell.

Thats a beautiful knife there. Those Dozier knives are really nice.

Wonder why this this exact same subject keeps reappearing in new threads... Especially considering there's no contest: it's the ER RAO. Nothing else comes close.

The ER RAO is second only to the Demko folder in that other thread. There's a good explanation in that thread as to why the Demko is stronger.

And I believe the spirit of this thread is what each person that replies owns that they consider to be the strongest.

Rao is IMO not close to Demko's folders. Little itty bitty aluminum stopping the mama huge lockbar from popping out of the scales (referring to the Rao). The aluminum is the softer type compared to the ZT500's stronger aluminum (or so I've been told).

I've used a file to grind the Rao's handle (wanted handle to be more ergonomic) and I've also filed some 7 thousand series aluminum (not sure number, Alpha Innovation made me a custom knuck and I filed it to my desired final shape) and the difference is significant.

I do not have very high regard for Extrema Ratio's folders truth be told. However to those who like it then good for you.

PS: Dropped my Rao and the screw came off. Tried to screw it in again and the aluminum stripped. Replaced screws with paracord (all I had at the time) and it is more secure. As with most of my aluminum handled ER folders, it is not good to open it up, the screws strip the soft aluminum very easily.

nothing stronger than a single piece of Ti, Sleipener carbon steel blade
rotoblock lock-safety
SR-1 the "ambitious folder"
