But it begs the question: what is it with people not understanding, or not being trained to handle, recoil? If you can't pop off a round or two of .50 BMG out of your Contender pistol, yer a weenie. Those guys in the video can't even handle a little ol' pop gun. Wusses.
I learned to shoot black powder rifles (big .58's) in Montana, and it's simple to handle the recoil if you have even a small amount of training. "Pad the butt stock, let it rise, rock back on the anchored foot. And if you drop my damn rifle you'll be moving the wood pile - one piece at a time - from one end of the property to the other from now until spring runoff." (I still hated shooting those things. I hurt for days.) I know black powder isn't anywhere near the [recoil] power of the Tyrannosaur or the Nyati, but I would think the principles still apply.
The sad thing is, most of those shooters are going to be turned off on guns because of that experience. (But it's still fun to watch, in a morbid sort of way.)
