At the very top of this forum there is a sticky called "Stropping: angle plus pressure" created by
T
Twindog
Take some time to read through this entire thread and you can become a pro at stropping. It has excellent illustrations and excellent information contributed by many others, not just Twindogs posts. I wish I had joined this forum many moons ago, I would have become better a lot faster.
One of the things that took me a while to figure out on my own was the fact that my tip of my blade was sharp but never crazy sharp like the rest of my knife after stropping. This is covered already in this thread. Outstanding info and guidance for anyone who enjoys sharpening a knife. I tip my hat to you guys who contributed, great info.
