I'm looking to buy my first strop. Isn't there a member who makes strops? I think I remember (just a little old timers kicking in) reading a post about it. Does anyone have contact information for said member? Your help will be appreciated.

I made my own classic barber strop which I fasten to doorhandles with a loop and now I've made two leather strops that are glued to rectangular stones, to go with my waterstones. It's really easy. What you need is quality leather, like cow hyde or something. A piece which is 40x10cm cost me like 20€ here in Stockholm (in Sweden, not Wisconsin), but it was worth it. On one of the "stones" I've applied jewelers rouge and I left the other one untouched for final honing. Sometimes I apply a bit of sewing machine oil to make things glide better (it also helps clean the leather from metal dust).
