Strop making question

Not sure if this is really the right category for this but couldn't find one more relevant so here goes. Recently I got a kme sharpener and I just can't afford as many strops as I need for it. I looked up the stone dimensions and made about 8 strops to match. The ceramic stones are 1/4" the thick so I made the strops to match. Problem is, the diamond stones I bought are 3/16". I could move the angle guide up to accommodate but I would rather leave it from start to finish. So the question is, what's the best way to make the strops exactly the same thickness as the hones? If I sand it will the surface be to rough to use with my cbn emulsion? My only other thought was maybe to wet the leather and clamp it between two pieces of wood with a diamond hone on either side to set the thickness.. If I let the leather dry like that will it retain it's dimensions? Thank you in advance for any input.

Just drop me a PM. Generally speaking, I have strops and stones for the KME system and can accommodate various widths lengths and thicknesses. Clarify if you want strops in 3/16 or 4/16 (1/4) since you have diamond stones in one thickness and ceramic stones in another thickness. You could reduce everything to 3/16 if that's what you want.

You do NOT want to wet the leather as part of your solution as this will change it's characteristics. Sanding the leather that you use for CBN emulsion is also not advisable.

My concern is that you have an optimal result for your setup.
