Hello I was wondering if a leather sheath was enough to make a pocket strop with comp and said sheath is for my spyderco pocket stone.

Sure, why not? I'm assuming you're going to keep the stone in the sheath still, but dress one of its outer surfaces as a strop?

Well it sounds like you have it figured out already. Sounds like a good plan to me.

I've actually done this, with the leather slipcase for my Spyderco DoubleStuff hone. I used the edge of the slipcase for this, as it makes it easier to hold in-hand and strop that way. I originally did it with some red rouge compound, in my early days learning about sharpening. I'd probably use a different compound these days, but the method itself is tried & true, at least in my own experience with it.

I have occasionally stropped on the hard/smooth face of the same slipcase as well. Didn't apply any compound to that - but bare-leather stropping is worth a lot in itself. And leaving the stone/hone in the case makes for a more stable backing.
