Strop Sharpening Questions

Hello, Is sharpening with a strop (As my only way of sharpening), okay? Should i get stones? a pocket sharpener? And also (this is probably really dumb) how can you sharpen a snowboard edge? Is it as easy as stropping? or is it a whole different thing?

Not dumb at all:

I have no experience with these, but DMT evidently produces dedicated "Diamond Whetstone Edgers" specifically for skis and snowboards. I have no idea how these products differ from their knife sharpening line, but-- you're evidently on the right track.
