Asking if anyone has experience stropping v-toku2 ?
is regular aluminum oxide or chrome oxide best or do I need to use diamond spray?
got formax black and white dry bar and some green greasy bar loaded on different strops

Not an expert, but the composition doesn't scream out that it would need diamonds.

That said, I am really happy with the 2 boxwood strops I glued to acrylic and sprayed with 4 micron and 8 micron diamond, respectively. They seem to take improve I throw at them, and the boxwood is nicely firm without being harshly hard.

You can strop v-toku2 on anything. Whatever you already have will work great. I use a strop block from knives plus that has green compound and it brings my Endura from “meh, pretty sharp” to a razor.

V-Toku2 does not win any edge holding contests however, it sharpens up on a diamond coated thin leather strop very quickly to an extra fine edge. I really like the steel for that reason alone.

Yes, any compound will work, green Cr Oxide is fine,,,,, but it takes much longer wrt diamonds on leather.

FK
