I just made a strop by tacking a piece of leather belt on to a small board I was wondering what I should use to charge it with??? I bout some metal polishing foam from the hardware store to work into the leather Will that work?? any other ideas?

I've been using a tiny leather pouch for my pocket stone charged with mothers metal polish. Seems to work ok, but almost puts a too-polished edge on there! Something more aggressive than mothers would probably be quicker, but I have the mothers and thats easier than trying to track down some strop compound.

Without super sharp tools, the leather shop would come to a standstill. Try this, it works better than most. I purchase mine from Lee Valley. http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=2&p=32984&cat=1,43072
