How many of you guys strop your knives to reduce how often you need to sharpen then ive just started doing it in the last few months. keeps me from having to sharpen them as often anyone else feel the same?
 
I strop to make my edges prettier :) unlike many, I really enjoy my sharpening time so I still sharpen almost every day.
 
I think strops are just great.

Personally, I tend to go from one extreme to the other when sharpening, obsessed to pragmatic.
If I just need to get my knife sharper in a hurry, I use honing steel or few swipes on 400 or 1k stone.
If I have time and I want real nice edge, then I sit through the whole progression. (1k to 20k, cordovan strop).
I have bunch of nice strops with good abrasives from hand American, but rarely use them.
I think if I wasn't so bipolar in sharpening modes, I'd use abrasive strops more often.
