can some one give me a good page where to buy stropping compound? preferably a site that has black white and green compounds in the same page?

You may wish to contact Kieth at HandAmerican. I can, from personal experience, attest to the very high quality of his products.

does he sell it in bars? im looking for bars of the stuff, im putting it on paper wheels.

are the ryobi compounds any good? a;so the particle size on ryobi producs is confusing, they rank the black emery compound at 1-3 microns, and the finer rouge at some where in the 9-14 micron range, can some one clear that up?

If I had to guess, I'd assume the rouge (iron oxide, perhaps) is a softer, less abrasive media (albeit with larger particles). So the net effect is less metal removal, producing a 'finer' finish.

Based upon the intended use for the black emery (coarse buffing, heavy scratch removal), I'd assume it is a harder, more abrasive media (maybe corundum/aluminum oxide Al2O3).

Particle size comparison is really only meaningful if the composition & hardness of the polishing media is the same.
