Hey guys! I just got my S110V pm2 I’m so I’m upgrading my sharpening system. I picked up the diamond stones for my Lansky. Coarse, medium, fine. And I also picked up a tube of the techdiamond diamond strop compound. It’s the 1 micron 14,000 grit. Is 1 micron enough to get a pretty good finish? If anyone has any advice as far as strop compounds or even tips on how you sharpen more high end steels let me know!

Don’t let it get dull and then try to sharpen it. On a Lansky sharpening system, S110V would take a lot of time and patience to sharpen back from a dull edge. As long as you keep the edge sharp, your compound will do fine.

Ok I was planning on sharpening it once to set the angle so I can do touch ups as needed. Would you not recommend doing that?

It’s worth a try. If it turns out to be more than you want to deal with, there’s plenty of folks on this forum that offer sharpening services.

D Dwight K Shrute If you want to upgrade from a Lansky to something better without breaking the bank look at the Vector sharpening system at gritomatic,it use's edge pro stones format stones and you'll be able to diamonds like the Venev without being into it for a lot.

I think the Vector goes for 150 usd and the Venev stones are the best I have used for S110V and they do great on any steel.

Thank you. I sharpened it to 20degrees last night. I went through all three diamond stones finishing at 600grit then stropped with the 1 micron compound. It’s shaving sharp. Maybe not quite as sharp as I can get my CTSBD1N but I imagine if I had gone through the diamonds AND then the ceramics it would be just as sharp. I just stopped at the diamonds because a lot of people have told me that stopping at the 600 grit diamond is the way to go. I’ll experiment as I go along with this knife to see what works best
