I have gotten a couple pieces of cow leather from my local shoe shop, total cost 5 bucks. I then made a double sided strop bat, and on one side I have white compound, and the other side is blank. I heard somewhere recently about using a baking soda paste for a final polishing of the edge? Is this true? If so, how should I go about it? With the white compound, I can get a very sharp edge, but like even finer, like hair whittling.
