I need opinions on how this pattern looks. Any and a advice wanted.
This pattern is much larger than any of the ones that I've cut out previously. I know that there will be welt thickness, but does it still look to small at the handle? I think I'd prefer to keep the welt one layer instead of 3 at the handle, but that's just because I think that would be more simple, but don't really know.
Leather is 8/9oz.
Another totally unrelated question. I have a belt blank that I got in the kit that's in the background of those pics. I'd need to cut it down to 1", but I'm just wondering if it's not advisable to use a totally different piece of leather for a dangler. I can't imagine why not unless they were different thicknesses (the belt may be slightly thicker, but not by much). The quality of the belt leather is not as good as my other stuff. The color and skin looks very similar, but the flesh side is rougher and more nappy.
A picture of a dangler (the actual strap with Chicago screws) would be really helpful too.
Thanks for any help.
