I'll explain, I used to have a paid membership/subscription but have not been around for a while so that lapsed, I plan on being around more and a new paid membership/subscription will be part of that, just getting sorted in the meantime.

Hello, me again

I'd like to instigate a new paid membership, I'd rather not do it now though if it will complicate matters down the line with the username change, if it won't complicate, then I am happy to do it now.

As far as I know, Spark does username changes manually, but the membership is automatic, unless you are buying for someone else, or for yourself in advance of the renewal date. Which means, again, as far as I know, it shouldn't complicate the username change process.
