Alert: this is not a complaint and I will not whine about this fine knife so please don't take this post that way.
This is my son's second stubborn Mule and I'm curious if anyone who has had similar experience has any advice. He uses the heck out of his Kabar Mule and typically gets a very nice edge on it. He uses DMT stones on that just like he does on all his other kinves.
This is the second Mule he's had (wore the first one out - impressive!) that gets to a point where it just doesn't want to get sharp. In addition to the stones, I've tried sandpaper, croc sticks, the Puck, stropping, etc. - everything currently at my disposal.
So 1) has anyone had a similar situation and 2) what the heck did you do about it? I'm not planning to break down and buy a belt sander or buffer to sharpen this one knife but short of that - any advice?
