It was suggested that I call this "The Plantain".

I cut this lightly used 8 down to 2.5 inches because I travel pretty much every other week and I would like to remain in the letter of the law. I ground the bevel right to the edge and it is wingin' sharp.

Love it?

Hate it?

Don't really care?

Let's hear it!

i like it.

difficult to see an 8 cut down, but i understand the reasoning.

and the grinds look great.

Man, I like that a lot, the blade reminds me of a Tom K. PSK. I'm looking at my 8s a bit differently now. :p

Great work. :)

Just make sure that swedge isn't sharp. Most municipalities that have a 2" blade restriction also have a restriction on "double edged" knives. Even though it's only the front portion it can count.

I too find it hard to see a CQC-8 cut down (I just bought a Super CQC-8 if that says anything about me :D) but it certainly came out very nicely. I like it but I just love the standard blade more.

Yeah, I made sure there is 1/16 of flat on the apex of the swedge.

Thanks for the positive comments. I was looking at the blade, then my running grinder, then the blade, then the grinder and thinking that this might be an awful idea. In the end I am tickled pink, but I completely understand the cringe factor!

Just wanted to make sure it was hard to see from the photos. I do like it though. I actually like short blades with full size handles they are actually VERY useful.
