Well, my search for a new EDC knife has now been...not really long, or hard really... But it has been a little annoying! I have gone through booth "EDC, which knife or knifes are you carrying today" threads, read through all the 10349 posts on the first and all the 2052 post on the second one and i think i have done my research right, so here it goes.

After all looking, reading and video watching, have i narrowed it in to two blades. The Spyderco paramilitary 2 and the Manix 2, i know the paramilitary 2 are in a little higher price point than the Manix 2, but i find the looks of the manix to be a little more attractive than the Paramilitary, it seems more ergonomic, the leaf shaped blade looks really good (the hollow saber grind i don´t mind, (but would prefer a ffg blade, and i don´t want to buy a used sprint´n run or the new blue "plastic" handle thing) And i like the ball lock (or at least the ball lock type of one handed operation mechanism). But the paramilitary 2 has a better steal, also one handed operation, it seems faster (i dont know if so but...), and after my understanding the compression lock are stronger, the handle is bigger and the blade is ffg.

So if someone can convince to buy one of them, or can recommend another knife in that style, new for under 110$. So... thanks in advance.

Go para2.. You won't be disappointed. It's a much better shape and weight for edc carry than the manix2

para 2 the manix lock is stiff or else i would own one or two right now to much jimping also

For EDC, the para2 is just about perfection. The handle size and ergo's, the slicing capabilities of the ffg blade shape, the silky smooth pivot, and the simple genius of the compression lock all make for an unbeatable combination for every day carry.

+ 1 on the para 2, the extra cash is worth it, imo lock is a lot easier to operate, lighter knife, wicked knife...

PM2 is a sweet setup. Let me add the Gayle Bradley to your list. For about $120 you get a very well made knife with CF scales and M4 steel :D

Really you can't go wrong the PM2, Manix 2, or GB. It just boils down to what fits your hand the best.

The Manix 2 is easy to open quickly.
Perhaps no one else cares to do this but...
I own two Manix 2s and a couple Benchmade Griptilians with lock releases in similar locations. I use my thumb and index fingers to pull the lock back, releasing it, and flick the blade out. Whips open, let go of the loosened lock as the blade reaches it's stopping point and you are ready to go. Closes one handed as well, by releasing the lock the same way.

The Para 2 gets my vote due to the ergonomics.

I've had both knives and holding/using each was completely different, IMO. The Manix 2's exposed metal nubs on the liners are supposed to provide incredible traction. It does - just too much. I don't understand how people think it's comfortable to use that knife in any hard manner when you have bits of small steel digging into your palm.

The Para 2 just really melts into your hand. Without using the choil, the Para 2 feels great and the blade is very versatile. Putting your finger in the choil works but it just felt a little weird to me. When I used my Para 2, I felt no hot spots or discomfort. It really is a great pocket knife.

+1 on the GB.

But I have a P2 on order as I want that one as well. Got a pre-order in on the orange P2 with CTS-XHP and looking forward later this year to having a P2.

You really wont get a clear answer and will have to choose. It probably wont matter as if you are like most of us you will end up with a bunch of spyderco edc's. It like potato chips. You cant buy just one.

Just wonder, does the Para 2 open faster (using the deployment hole) than the M, it just seem that way in some of the reviews, i thought in the beginning that it was the 14mm deployment hole on the Para 2, but then i read that the M2 also had a 14 mm deployment hole. And if the Para 2 has a faster deployment why??
