Ok there's the story, I bought a skinner knife on E-bay in Texas shipped by USPS and then it's stucked at the border by the Canadian Customs. Seams like it's considered like a push knife, there for prohibited in wonderfull Canada, btw those knives are sold every in Canada in any outdoors shop. They gave me 3 options...: 1-fight the decision(waste of time) 2-abandon the item to the crown to be destroyed(ya right) 3-send it back to the seller (who is willing to credit it in exchange of a future sell). Of course I chosed number 3 but here's the catch, I've gotta get a Custom bonded carrier(UPS,Fedex...) to go at the Customs, get the package and take it back in Texas but since it's a prohibited weapon no one wants to do it. Like I said earlier it's a knife not a bomb...anybody had that kind of experience and how did it worked out??? They gave me 3 options but looks like there's only one!!! Cheers Treg

I'll bet that's your real problem. they know you can get it at home, and they want you to. In my experience your border patrol seems to be tenaciously overprotective of the canadian economy. as they should, but it can get annoying both ways. Example

Border Guy: Why can't a canadian company do this work...

My Boss's thought's: Hmm... Maybe because there is only ONE company in North America who puts up Glass Squash Courts. cuz the market won't support 2

My Boss: there isn't a canadian company that does this.

Border Guy: How do you know?

Because the people who contracted us would probably try damned hard to find one since these work permits are almost impossible to get.
