I just got a 110 slim pro TRX in the mail from Knife Center. I opened it up (one handed) and it is stuck open. I can not close it no matter what I do. How about that?
A Buck fan.

Thanks, but it's a funny looking fixed blade. I got it to unlock by pushing it on the corner of my desk. This is my 5th 110. Three of them are 110s the 4th is a 110 Slim Pro, S45VN, burlap micarta. The 4th one is much harder to unlock than the first three but manageable. This 110 slim pro TRX is practically unusable. I will send it to Buck, Im sure they will take care of this.

Sorry for making light of the situation.
It stinks.
But you're correct they'll make it right.

The Gerber Folding Sportsman has a lock that's similar to the 110. I bought one in the mid 70s (I think), a FSII. If I flicked it open hard it would lock like you've described. I got in the habit of tapping the lock on my boot heel to unlock it. One day I came to the aid of a damsel in distress who needed a cool guy with a knife to open a box. Out came the FSII, opened the box, tapped it on the boot heel, and cool guy stabbed himself in the thigh.

Don't do this, it's not really all that impressive to the women.

If it is a new Slim Pro TRX with the pivot bolt, try to loosen the pivot screw slightly to see if releases the lock a bit so you can close the knife.

I'm sorry to hear you having trouble closing our new TRX. There are a couple of things you can do if your up for trying or you can send me a private message with your address and I will get a pre-paid label to get it back here so we can repair or replace it. I wouldn't loosen the pivot fastener but the smaller one near the spine of the knife, its a T6 head. If not please let me know.

Recent problems with Buck. First one, TRX will not unlock without an unacceptable amount of force. Fix, send it back to KnifeCenter for a refund and order a custom 110. Second problem, I purchased a 846-12C26 Sanvik, 3.75", 3.4oz. from the Buck website (Web Specials). I received a 3.25", 3.7oz., typo on their page. Fix, keep it and let Buck know about the typo. Cadillac problems, this doesn't change my opinion of Buck. The 846 is beautiful, I really like this knife. I also have a custom 722 on order. I have had one or more 110s for forty years now. I'm very much enjoying these EDCs. Thank you, Buck!

that'd be my xl vantage I've been askin for a decade plus now......but doesn't exist....
yet.

yeah a typo and the typo is still there on the website for that knife.

I don't know if it'll work here, but when I got my one & only Emerson knife it had lock stick. Bad. I read on several old posts here to use a Sharpie on the lock face. It sounded kind of dumb, but since I had nothing to lose, I took a Sharpie out of the desk drawer & painted the lock face with Sharpie ink, where it contacts the blade. It worked. I had to re-apply over the next couple days whenever it started to stick again, but the lock finally loosened up.

Different kind of lock & maybe a completely different problem altogether, but you probably have a Sharpie laying around, so it won't hurt to give it a try. And if you still have to send it back to the mother ship, I doubt some ink on the lock will void the warranty.

pencil works also.....on liner and frame lock stick. this backlock neither of those will help on it. its a dimensions are off enough type problem. could be super stiff spring, but even those can be closed by using something solid like a table edge to depress the bar fully. course one has to be very careful doing this so it doesn't slip and cut them.

also if using a table edge, make sure it isn't the wife's favorite piece of furniture or ya could be in a lot of trouble.

I have noticed a lot of bandaids on knife reviewers fingers. In the past month I have gotten into a small level of knife collecting along with some cut fingers. I can't send my TRX back for a refund. I can't seem to be able to give up on a 110 EDC or Buck. So I'm going to take the member "Buck Knives inc." up on there offer and send this back to Buck for warranty work.
