Stud location

I'm doing a project for a customer which involves adding ambi thumbstuds to a Case wharmcliffe trapper.

The back spring on this knife isn't overly strong, but I want it to open fairly easy.

I make my own thumbstuds in house, any ideas on the best location for studs?

I'm thinking it has to be close to the end of the nail nick to work right, maybe a tad closer to the bolsters.

I will also be adding G-10 scales in place of the stag and milling out a opening area for the studs, he understands it wont open like a liner lock or a tactical.
Thanks, Ron
