I dunno if you guys have seen this before, but its pretty amazing. It would be great for those of us with a real small shop, but man would I feel guilty if I didn't put my tools away

I wonder how much time he spent just thinking up the design much less building that!

When I saw the thread title I thought maybe you would have some tips on how to leverage my tool collection into a method of getting ladies. False advertising! ;)

I'm surprised how the weight of the door is only on those 5 hinges.
For a piano maker, I would have expected a piano hinge.

If you buy a new tool, where do you put it?

It's art indeed. I reflect at times on the state of our society, and seeing something as elegant as this, crafted from wood (a material much more unforgiving to work than metal) just makes me sad over the state of things today. Case in point, my profession is building design and construction. We used to produce drawings that even showed bolt threads on something like a pump mounting in the mechanical room. Now you are lucky as hell if the little cad jock even bothers to do drawing coordination from sheet to sheet to match up column lines.

At least a few things are still around that make you savor clever design, quality workmanship, and enduring worth. I guess that's one reason I collect knives.

It's art but do you think the maker thought of it that way? I wonder how big his shop was or how much storage he had. He designed it so it would fit all or most of his tools in one spot and added some embellishments for esthetics. This was a piece designed and meant to be used but because he was a master craftsman, it became art as well. Amazing piece.
