Our home of recent(well about a month ago) has had remodeling and in the process of cleaning, moving, and demolishing things the following was found: A early 1950s 7-up bottle inside the wall (our home was built in 52' I believe so one of the construction workers got a bit lazy  ), a similar aged coke bottle, and one more generic glass bottle. Inside our garage when cleaning it we happened to find a fishing reel buried in dust hidden by a stud(forgot the name of it) made somewhere between the 60s-70s', but most recently and I have to thank my dad for this--an old VERY dirty SAK. Now yesterday I had discovered that my dad had found it and just left it on a shelf.

Finding this dirty but still neat looking SAK I took it upon myself to do a through cleaning, removing very slight surface rust(I was amazed in how good condition it was aside from the dirt), a re-oiling, and a resharpening(the edge was pretty much no-existent. There is very slight separation of the scale on one side(still secure though) and the smaller blade is slightly bent from what appears to be resulted from prying. What I was left with was a very functional, usable, SAK! It's springs are incredibly snappy and feels very solid. I wanted to ask you guys whether I should edc this, or just keep it for collection purposes? Anyhow to the pics: (ill try to get the other things in too)

Cool! Clip small blade and bail (instead of a split key ring) indicate it's pre '69.

Is it perhaps stamped "Victoria" and "OFFICER SUISSE" on the back side tang of the main blade?

Great old knife! I would use it and pass it down some day...SAKs usually have very long lives!

Aside from some cosmetic flaws, this is still a very usable knife. I probably will use it. On non an another note does victorinox service older knives or will they just replace it with a new one?

I honestly don't know because I never had a reason to send in a Vic. However I would like to point out that it's not a cosmetic flaw it's personality. Old knives look better when you can actually see it was used.

Yes, it depends on the knife but if you do not tell them the knife has sentimental value...they may send you a new one....

If it's still ok, I wouldn't send it in.

That is still a common model so I would guess they could fix a problem. They would replace that small blade as they are all spear blades now. Scales would be more of a problem since it has a bail.

Digital UC, did you get my return email? My ISP went with Gmail servers last year and it's hit and miss on mail delivery.

When did they start pressing on the scales, instead of using rivets?

Cosmetics, I don't really care about. The only the reason why I bring up servicing is that the smaller blade is slightly bent.
